Sadly, we have come to face the fact that there are no chill brides. At some point during your engagement, something big or small will break you and you will be shedding tears, angry, or frustrated about an aspect to the wedding that may appear to be minimal to others. Megan Markle and Kate Middleton had an argument over flower girl dresses after all, so it really does happen to the best of us.
Being a bride is tough simply for the reality that as soon as you become engaged to your fiance, anyone you have ever met will criticize every decision you make. This constant pressure, ridicule, and judgement is incredibly hard to deal with as you try your best to plan your special day.
Keep the following in mind and we know you will be that chill bride you hoped you would be from the get-go!
First, have no regrets... AKA make a decision and stick with it! Everyone will always have a different opinion which is why they live your life and you live yours. When it comes to a day meant specially for you and your soulmate, you can and should make your own decisions. When people give their unsolicited advice, acknowledge it, move on, and don’t let anyone change your mind.
Second, choose your battles wisely. Some fights aren't worth ending relationships over, like a week-long argument with your fiance over a cake flavor that just so happened to be your second favorite. Ask yourself, is it worth it?
Last but not least, put your happiness first. This is an incredible moment in your life and you need to be selfish and do what makes you happy. It’s your wedding so you can get away with making other people a little uncomfortable at times in order to make your day better. It’s your memories after all and don’t let anyone tell you otherwise.
